Note from the Owner
I started The Crystaleyezed Cult in June 2019 as a little art concept I had. I always loved oddities and found beauty in the strange and unusual. Being an artist, I embrace not only the dark, but the abstract in my pieces to really express myself. Canvas never seems to be enough for me, and I'm constantly looking for new mediums to experiment with. The idea for TCC came to me when my pet hedgehog, Wilma, passed away. I had her skeleton cleaned and structured by a taxidermist in a glass display case. Morbid creations fascinate me. I told myself once I got her back I'd paint her bones, since I've never done that before, and make a nice artistic tribute. The whole endeavor wound up taking longer than I thought, and in the meantime, the idea of painting skeletons kept repeating in my mind. I thought, why wait for Wilma, let me practice on one now. So I found a rabbit skull online and purchased it. When it arrived, I already had a picture of what I wanted it to look like in my head, so I got to work. When I was done it felt like it was missing something. Two hollow holes were staring back at me, and that's when it hit me...crystals. Being very spiritual, I have many crystals in my personal collection at all times, and study their magickal properties. I took two of my apophylite crystals, and fixated them in the eye sockets of the rabbit skull. It was perfect. I posted photos of my design, and one of my friends asked to buy it. Then I had people ask when I'd be making more. That's when I realized, my company was born.
